The lousiest answer of them all!

I have been living in Germany for the past 10 years and sadly I hear those words very often. So often that sometimes I ask myself, “how is Germany where it is?”

Maybe a better question is, “imagine where it would be?”

Or the best question, “imagine where it could be?”

Because it’s not late! It’s always possible to change our perspective.

A while back I saw this video from Christoph Magnussen, whose mission is to inspire a new way of working. He also criticises the situation in Germany and he is right, “Nostalgics never win!”

Other hilarious examples are:

“The truth is, no online database will replace your daily newspaper.” – Clifford Stoll, Author, 1995.

“Remote shopping, while entirely feasible, will flop.” – Time Magazine, 1996.

And my favorite:

“Everything that can be invented has been invented.” – Charles H. Duell, Commissioner of the US patent office, 1899

It looks like he didn’t want any work at the patent office anymore.

And you? What do you answer?

I hope it is, “here we do things differently, try it!”
